Darcy Fox is the lesbian, indie singer-songwriter you’ve been waiting for. She drops her new single, Storm Warning. She’s isn’t here to sanitize heartbreak or tie emotional complexity into neat little bows. She’s here to sit in the messy middle with you, admitting that sometimes being loved feels like the only thing keeping you tethered to the ground when everything else wants to blow you sideways.
Musically, Fox has clearly done her homework, or maybe she just has impeccable taste. I love how the guitar work unfolds throughout. While sparse, it works well within the atmosphere.
