Toronto-based duo YSSY (pronounced “yessy”) makes alt-pop that draws on the past while looking firmly towards the future. Their new single, Crystallize, explores the feeling of going around in circles and wanting to see life clearly again. The lyrics resonate on a deeper level because of how relatable they feel.
Crystallize sounds iconic. Elliot’s haunting vocals drift through layers of dreamy samples, drifting between melancholy and hope. The chorus swells through the warmth of real strings, and cyclical harmonies and pulsating bass immerse you in an almost otherworldly atmosphere.
Crystallize offers something unique within YSSY’s growing body of work. Check it out below!
