Hamilton, Ontario-born singer-songwriter Ariana Fig shares I Hope You Love Me, an emotionally candid pop-folk single from her upcoming debut album So Long, Sinnerstate! (out August 14). It revolves around being head over heels in love with someone and how it brings both euphoria and fear. Because what if they don’t accept your flaws, for example? You can drive yourself crazy with these kinds of questions.
I think the arrangement here, driven by spinning drums, cool bass, and great guitar work, is iconic. The vocals are magical, especially during the chorus, where they shine the brightest.
