Rising singer-songwriter India Thieriot releases her new single, Like a Soldier. It talks about the limbo of losing someone without ever getting the closure needed to fully let go. You keep waiting for them to return, holding onto that small possibility even when you know it may never happen. The song fits into Thieriot’s upcoming project Yesterday’s News, which looks at our relationship with the past, the people we outgrow, and the fear of becoming someone’s old news.
Like a Soldier sounds brilliant. I really like how the guitar-driven pop production provides warmth while not overshadowing the personal lyrics. The vocals keep everything close and emotional, making the song easy to connect with.
Like a Soldier sets things in motion nicely for Yesterday’s News, and we’re curious to see where India Thieriot takes it from here. Start listening below!
