Since her teenage debut, Flower Face has shaped her music around the darker corners of love, earning widespread praise for the dramatic songwriting and emotional intensity of her 2024 album Girl Prometheus.
Bad Dream focuses on the moment a fantasy around someone starts falling apart. The lyrics question what happens when you have built an entire version of a relationship in your head, only to realize the person in front of you never matched the version you were fighting for.
The sound takes Flower Face into a much bigger space, replacing the softer acoustic elements of her earlier work with distorted guitars, ethereal synths, and heavy shoegaze-leaning drums. Her vocals cut through the dense production with a striking directness.
